We visit Food Matters Live event in London

27 November 2019

Last week we visited Food Matters Live Conference and Exhibition in London, a unique event that creates cross-sector connections focused on the future of food, drink and sustainable nutrition.

We had the opportunity to explore how the issues raised in the conference and seminars are already driving product development in nutritious food and drink. Over 400 organisations took part in the Food Matters Live Conference and Exhibitionshowcasing the latest developments in food and drink innovation, nutrition, health and sustainability.

There was a dedicated Research Pavilion which hosted many of the food sector’s leading research, testing and analysis organisations as well as the stand out academic institutions.

Local welsh producers of food products, from porridge to turmeric based health supplements, where present in the Food & Drink Wales stand. In total, 8 national pavilions showcased the best of each country’s food industry, from Ecuador to Greece, China or Belgium.

Sustainability, health, nutrition, and future-focused strategies were some of the subjects seminars focused on. They brought together over 250 experts from across the food, drink, nutrition and healthcare landscape to share insight, ideas, and best-practice tips. All sessions were CPD (Continuing Professional Development) endorsed by the BDA, The Association of UK Dietitians. Specific subjects would range from challenges in the “Free From” food sector to sports nutrition together with healthy ageing.
