Invest in Gloucestershire attends the first annual infrastructure investment forum, UKREiiF 2022, as part of the Western Gateway Partnership

The Invest in Gloucestershire team at GFirst LEP and Gloucestershire County Council are excited to be participating in the first annual UKREiif forum as part of the Western Gateway Partnership at the event.

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the first annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 17-19 May 2022.

UKREiif’s mission is to connect people, places and businesses to accelerate the Levelling Up Agenda, whilst unlocking sustainable, inclusive and transformational investment across the UK. The forum is expected to attract inward investment and generate economic growth within the property and construction industries.

Gloucestershire’s presence is part of The Western Gateway Partnership whose goal is to provide its partners with a platform at the event to talk about the exciting investment opportunities in their areas.

The Western Gateway represents the powerhouse of South Wales and Western England, working together to power the UK’s transition to Net Zero whilst also working to add a further £34 billion to the economy. This joint-region is home to world leading advanced manufacturing, high-tech clusters, excellent universities and innovative businesses, the partnership is at the forefront of developing new green energy solutions and creating green sustainable growth for the 4.4million people who live within its borders

The delegation from Gloucestershire will be promoting the new Innovation Village at the Royal Agricultural University. This is a new multi-use scheme including academic, commercial, residential and hotel space. Outline planning is scheduled to be submitted by the end of this year.

The Gloucestershire team will also be highlighting the other major developments and infrastructure projects in the county including the Golden Valley project in Cheltenham; The Forum in Gloucester, the new ‘cycle spine’ linking up Stroud, Gloucester and Cheltenham and also enhanced highway and rail schemes.

During the Conference, The Western Gateway partnership will have a stand in area B14 and will holding a panel event on the Levelling Up Stage on Thursday 19th May, 9:15am – 10:15am.
