Invest in Gloucestershire visit House of Lords

19 February 2026

Our Head of Inward Investment attended a series of presentations at the House of Lords, promoting the importance of sustainable energy generation, particularly utilising anaerobic digestion.

The team is working with a company looking to utilise chicken manure as their feedstock and in so doing help mitigate the environmental damage this waste product has on the environment, particularly in the Wye Valley.

Such plants can produce gas, which could be used to heat homes. Whilst the bi-products include nutrient-rich fertiliser for agricultural sector.

The keynote was delivered by Baron Whitehead, Minister for Energy Security & Net Zero. Discussions have since taken place with policy teams in the Department for Energy & Net Zero, who will be conducting a national consultation exercise in the summer, focussing on anaerobic digestion and biomethane into the grid.
