Major milestone for Golden Valley Development
Last Friday 4 July, outline planning consent was granted for the first phase of the Golden Valley Development in Cheltenham
This marks a significant step forward in the creation of a world-class innovation district at the heart of the UK’s cyber-tech landscape.
This phase includes over 1.35 million sq ft of commercial space, anchored by the IDEA Innovation Centre - a dedicated hub for cybersecurity, AI, quantum, and emerging technologies. Positioned alongside GCHQ, the centre will offer high-specification workspace and support for start-ups, scale-ups, and global firms focused on secure digital innovation.
Backed by a £104 million public–private funding package, the development is designed to attract international investment and drive high-value job creation through cutting-edge R&D and commercial collaboration.
Plans also include 576 new homes, supporting the broader ecosystem and workforce needs of the site.
Invest in Gloucestershire is actively supporting the international profile of the Golden Valley Development engaging with overseas investors and occupiers to help attract high-quality inward investment into this strategically important site.
