Gloucestershire has taken another bold step forward in cementing its ...
Moog Aircraft Control Components, based in Tewkesbury, were expanding rapidly and needed facilities that could grow with them as they continued to gain new contracts and develop new products. They are currently the largest employer in Tewkesbury.
Moog searched across the UK, including near their other facilities in Wolverhampton. We utilised all our resources and contacts to find them the ideal location in Gloucestershire. and when a site became available just metres away from their existing Tewkesbury facility, we helped them negotiate its acquisition.
Once Moog had decided to remain in Tewkesbury, we ensured that the construction of the new facility went smoothly, linking them up with key contacts in the National Grid and National Highways so that they were able to get connected as quickly as possible.
The £40 million state-of-the-art facility is carbon neutral and three times the size of their existing buildings in the region, while being ideally placed to ensure staff can continue to travel to work by bike, bus or on foot. Moog can now continue to grow without having to keep searching for new premises, and the expansion represents a key part of Moog’s overall commitment to the UK.
Thanks to Moog’s experience across the Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing sector, we’ve brought their expertise into the county’s Local Growth Plan and the company has fed into the national Industrial Strategy. They play a key role in working group consultation and we continue to work with them to help develop industry partnerships and talent pipelines.
“Having the ability to go to a team like Invest in Gloucestershire is extremely important, and the support we have received has been valuable to facilitate Moog’s growth.
“With a strong aerospace skill set in the county, staying in Gloucestershire was key to ensure we retained and attracted great talent to help secure future growth in the UK.”
